A Modern Home for the Modern Family
KNC Granite was contacted by a family in Laurel, Maryland. The customer was looking to have their kitchen and bathroom remodeled with new sinks and counters. They also had another contractor implement a new cabinet. So the final touch would be to install the countertops and sinks.
We invited the couple to our showroom to see which of the stones they wanted to install in their home. They stopped by and looked at our marble, granite and quartz varieties. Their eyes settled on the granite stone, which they wanted for both the kitchen and bathroom.
Being that it was a one bedroom home, the bathroom was overused by the medium-sized family. So the counters were a wreck, especially since the material was weak laminate. There were burns from hair curlers and water damage, which made the bathroom unsightly. It was embarrassing to have guests over, who only had this one bathroom to use.
We sent out a professional to the property to measure the bathroom and kitchen, so fabrication of the granite would be precise. Afterward, an estimate was provided to the family, who accepted the quote right away.
A Delighted Family in Laurel, Maryland
When the professionals at KNC Granite completed the project, the entire family was happy with the results. The look was more modern, which was what they were going for. They also desired functionality, which granite definitely provides. We made sure to seal the counters, so they would last longer. The Laurel family was added to our growing list of satisfied customers.
Installing the Granite Stone
The professionals at KNC Granite fabricated the stones for the family, then got to work a few days later. When we arrived, we saw the kitchen counters were badly burned, ripped and cracked. Much of the problems came with the purchase of the home and only grew worse over the years.
We removed the counters from the property, then installed the new ones. The granite stone looked really good in the older model home. The couple decided they wanted to have the same stone used for the backsplash, which was implemented successfully. We placed granite tile behind the stove area and behind the sink.
We made sure to properly seal the granite stone, so it would better endure hot pots and pans and cutting utensils. Next, we we installed the new sink, which was selected by the couple. They chose to have a double bowl sink installed. Having a family and guests over occasionally meant larger amounts of dishes.
After we finished the kitchen, we went to the hall bath and removed the old countertop from the vanity. The granite stone chosen for the bathroom was a black one with white specks and gray veins.
